Nautical Club

Positioned on a small island on the artificial lake of Bacau city , the Nautical Club rises like a tectonic formation, a landmark that aims to combine water sports with leisure and wellness activities. The main requirement for this project was to create a symbolic structure that was visible from all sides, especially from the nearby bridge which is hosting the major access road to the city. Composition is based on a principle of ancient Asian rock gardens, resembling two large stones that support each other and are standing on a thin water feature.

SUN PATH
The large structure housing the swimming pools is positioned in a way that offers the maximum heat gain all year round.

PROGRAM
The sport club is comprised out of three main units,the swimming pools, the nautical club and the main lobby.

INTERIOR PATHS
The four interlocked interior routes are directing the viewer to various spaces.

SWIMMING POOLS
Interior cutaway view of the various pools types. The relaxation pools of the sauna floor are on-deck pools and benefit from a interior view.
